On April 2, 2010, my dog Turtle broke out of his yard and ran the neighborhood with his boy Cash (Australian Sheppard Dog).
I spent all night looking for him with no avail. At 8:00 am the next morning I received a phone call from a Good Samaritan who not only found Turtle but cared for him by taking him to the emergency room.
Yes, my Homeboy Turtle was hit by a car smashing his pelvis and broke both his hind legs. The Vet told me that his chances of survival were slim, not only that, the cost to put him into surgery was in the range of $8-$10K! And even with the surgery, there would be no guarantees…
What would I Do? People told me. . . “He’s just a dog” . . “You can get a new One”. . “Put him out of his misery”. .
However after contemplating the options. . .one thing came to mind . . .
Turtle is My Homeboy!
